Integration Architect to lead MuleSoft-based integration design for a federal healthcare client modernizing on Salesforce Government Cloud Plus. You will own the integration architecture connecting Salesforce Health Cloud to electronic health records (EHR), claims systems, identity providers, federal data exchanges, and legacy mainframes. This role operates on MuleSoft Government Cloud (FedRAMP High) and must adhere to HIPAA, NIST 800-53, and agency-specific data exchange requirements.
This is a senior, hands-on role. You will design API-led architectures, manage complex DataWeave transformations, establish integration standards, and present designs to federal technical evaluators. You will collaborate closely with Salesforce technical architects, security leads, and the client s enterprise architecture team.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (System, Process, and Experience APIs).
- Design and implement integrations between Salesforce Health Cloud and external systems such as EHRs (Epic, Cerner, VistA), claims platforms, and federal data exchanges.
- Define and enforce HL7 FHIR R4 integration patterns and resource modeling.
- Build complex DataWeave 2.0 transformations for HL7 v2, FHIR, X12, and proprietary formats.
- Establish API governance, including specification lifecycles in Anypoint Exchange and policies in API Manager.
- Ensure compliance with FedRAMP High and HIPAA standards, including encryption and audit logging.
- Lead design reviews, produce architecture decision records, and mentor developers.
- Support federal proposals by writing technical volumes and sizing integration efforts.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of integration architecture experience, with at least 4 years on the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale API-led architectures.
- Deep expertise in DataWeave 2.0, REST/SOAP API design, and API security (OAuth 2.0, mTLS, JWT).
- Production experience with Salesforce connectors, Platform Events, and Bulk API patterns.
- Healthcare integration experience (HL7 v2, HL7 FHIR R4, X12 EDI).
- MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect or Platform Architect.
- US citizenship and the ability to pass a federal background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MuleSoft Government Cloud or FedRAMP High platforms.
- Familiarity with Salesforce Health Cloud data models and NIST 800-53 controls.
- Prior experience supporting federal healthcare agencies (VA, DHA, CMS, etc.).
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Anypoint MQ, Kafka) and CI/CD pipelines.
